Inspired by the wringing action of extracting liquids from clothes, Wringer achieved its seamless, minimalistic, but intriguing geometry. The folds covering its surface creates ergonomic support for the hand to rest and juice comfortably. The thread mechanism takes away the stress load and ease the juicing experience. The goal is to introduce a playful and more efficient way of manual juicing. The base of my design precedents is to play with form semiotics, how a play in form can change user’s behaviour. During my exploration phase, I am borrowing other action words that involves acts of liquid extraction: Milk, Squash, Press, Squeeze, Turn, Crush, Wring, Spray. These familiar actions, when implemented to a new product, will trigger muscle memory of the user. It will help them navigate their way on the new product.
